Always Watch Where You Tread highlights the intricate patterns the ocean carves into the sand as the tide recedes. By combining delicate hand-stitching with more energetic machine embroidery, Layering rugging, appliqué, embroidery, and felting allows me to juxtapose the softness of sand and rock pools against the solid geometry of rock formations. Beyond their beauty, these works serve as a warning—reminders of the delicate ecosystems that exist on the edge of survival.
