As we gear up for this year's Collect, which is being held at Somerset House from 3–5 March, we've been eyeing up social media to see the participating ceramicists, glassmakers, silversmiths and more getting ready for the annual event. From scenic studios to rustic workshops, here's where the magic is happening ahead of the fair.
The joyful patterns on ceramicist Maya Leroy’s wobbly clay vessels all start out as doodles that she draws up in her Eindhoven studio – she'll be exhibiting her work at this year’s Collect with Beirut-based gallery Pik’d.
A quiet corner of ceramicist Cecile Deladier’s studio in the picturesque region of Drôme, France. She will be showcasing her patinated vases and sculptures with London’s Flow Gallery at the fair.
Expansive panels of wood fill the studio of designer Pierre Renart, who will be appearing at Collect with French gallery Maison Parisienne. Here's a glimpse of his work on a piece of American walnut.
The Ballyhoura mountains of County Cork form a dramatic backdrop to Antonio Julio López Castro's studio, where he crafts a range of stoneware and porcelain pieces. He'll be showing them at the fair with Design & Crafts Council Ireland.
Rows of Oriel Zinaburg’s amorphous pots rise up towards the ceiling of his East London studio. The ceramicist will be showing more of these works at this year’s Collect with Chichester-based Candida Stevens Gallery.
Spools of thread sit heaped beside a work-in-progress at the Manchester studio of textile artist Alice Kettle, who will also be showing with Candida Stevens Gallery.
