I was what you are, you will be what I am
This project explores a commentary on loss of identity within Hereford Cathedral. Using hand embroidery and embellishment I recreated a holy Stole worn by priests.Using natural and commercial dyes to achieve a stark colour contrast. Coming from the disparity between defaced saint statues and unidentified plague victims beneath the Cathedral, my goal was to restore identity to the plague victims through informing people of their history, making them equals of the remembered within the Cathedral.
