Mirror Frames
These mirror frames which I designed after leaving the City and Guilds of London arts chool were an exercise in changing a two dimensional design into a three-dimensional carving. Some were waxed and some water gilded and I used a variety of woods.

I tend to walk quite a bit and I pick up bits and pieces and I picked up this fir cone, drew it and made a design which was moderately successful. Walnut: - 70 diameter cm.
One day my mother brought over a bunch of her beautiful tulips which I then drew and turned into a design for this mirror frame. Mahogany: - 75 diameter cm.
They were carved in various sizes ranging from 80 (h) x 80 (w) x 8 (d) cm down to square to 70 (h) x 50 (w) x 10 (d) cm.
Some of the mirror frames appeared in a magazine and one client asked me to carved a panel using the same design just in a straight line. Mahogany: - 120 (l) x 20 (h) x 10 (d) cm.
Water gilded lime wood - 70 (h) x 50 (w) x 10 (d) cm.
