Come along to the December meet-up for members of the Young Craft Citizens (YCC) network in the Crafts Council Gallery.
The Crafts Council's Young Craft Citizens network is a collective of 16-30 year-olds interested in shaping the future of craft, design and making in the UK. Members meet at monthly get-togethers to get creative, gain experience and make their voices heard in the arts sector. All backgrounds and experience levels are welcome!
The December workshop will be led by Birmingham-based artist Shaheen Ahmed, whose work features in our current exhibition We Gather, which showcases works by five female Black and Asian artists. Shaheen will share her journey into craft and her aims and ambitions for the future, before inviting the group to take part in a meditative, blindfolded mark-making workshop. The event will conclude with an informal conversation about navigating the craft sector as an artist.
This event is only open to YCC members.
