Join the Crafts Council and craft makers Fleur Winter, Sarah Drew, Jenny Ayrton, Tamara Rhoden-Peterson and Angie Parker on Wednesday 28 April from 3.30-5.30pm for a hands-on digital continual professional development (CPD) session for teachers of art, craft and design.
As the education landscape continues to change and evolve, utilising digital technologies for learning, the Crafts Council is bringing together craft practitioners and maker educators to deliver four short workshops on how to deliver craft in a blended classroom environment. We will be offering four practical sessions that demonstrate how craft makers can enhance learning in the classroom.
Crochet Jewellery, Sarah Drew
Explore reclaiming materials for weaving with textile artist and weaver Angie Parker, clay forming and impressions with ceramist Fleur Winter, making crochet jewellery and sculptural forms from recycled materials with jeweller Sarah Drew, learn how to create a wall hanging with textile artist Tamara Rhoden-Peterson and contribute to national community art project, Moths to a Flame with glass artist Jenny Ayrton.
We have asked our contributors to consider how we can utilise digital platforms and found and reclaimed materials within school learning. All materials used during the session are commonly found within the home or surrounding environments and practical activities are designed to be easily reproduced in the classroom.
