Want to take part in a cosmic community art project and leave a lasting mark on Jodrell Bank’s legacy?

To celebrate 80 years of discovery and innovation, Jodrell Bank is delighted to be collaborating with renowned textile artist Anne Kelly on a unique commemorative quilt. This extraordinary artwork will reflect the wonders of the universe that have shaped our journey over the past eight decades – and we want your help to bring it to life!

Drawing inspiration from projects such as the RAS Bicentennial Quilt, this symbolic piece will join our permanent collection. We’re looking for quilters, stitchers, knitters, embroiderers, and groups regardless of experience, to make a square to form part of a new commemorative quilt.

How to Apply

We are calling on you to create a 23 cm x 23 cm (plus a 2cm border for piecing) textile panel that reflects the themes of Jodrell Bank's rich history and its ongoing contributions to our understanding of the cosmos. Each square will become a part of the larger quilt, embodying the spirit of our 80 year journey.
