2. Open the paper out to reveal the kite shape. 1. Fold an A4 piece of paper in half and make a diagonal fold about 2cm from the fold at the top and about 7cm from the fold at the bottom.
4. Tape a wooden skewer across the widest part of the kite, trimming the skewer down to size using scissors (keep the pointy end for the next step). 3. On the other side, use masking tape to tape down the central fold. This will keep the kite together.
6. Reinforce the hole with masking tape, pierce through the tape with the pointy skewer. 5. Turn the kite over and make a hole, using the pointy end of the skewer. Make sure it’s level with the taped down skewer.
Remember to keep the string in one big ball, no cutting! 7. Tie on your piece of string.
9. Try using newspaper, old plastic bags or tissue paper to add tails to your kite. Now it’s time to fly your kite! 8. Decorate your kite using newspaper, coloured paper or pencils and felt tips.
