Rounds
A series of ‘Rounds’ (round windows) created using the Japanese style of papermaking influenced by found images of dwellings situated in Osaka and Kyoto, Japan. The Japanese Window Research Institute states the round windows embody the concept of mitate, to enable something to be seen in a new way. These handmade ‘rounds’ plus the architect plans were photographed and digitally printed for an artists’ book that offers my spatial interpretation of the ‘Rounds’ and their place on the page.
