My work blends painting, drawing, and sculpture, often integrating ceramic elements into both my sculptures and paintings. I hand-build my ceramics using textures, words, glazes, and organic materials to create multi-dimensional pieces that speak both visually and conceptually. My art reflects personal experiences, emotions, and external influences, using materials as a language to express the complexities of human experience through texture, form, and narrative.
Earth and Fire Ceramic Fair is one of the country's premier ceramic events taking place every year at the end of June in North Nottinghamshire.
Here is the catalogue of the exhibitors as the event is now cancelled here is an online exhibition.
I create sustainable art by using paper clay, reducing waste through reusing broken ceramics and scraps in mosaics and mixed-media pieces. Instead of twice firing, I use hand-drawn ink designs, minimizing energy use. My glazes are recycled or fired with organic methods like sager and smoke firing. I work with local suppliers and employ local artisans, fostering a circular economy and reducing environmental impact at every step of the process.
