In our May/June issue, we explore what it means to be human

In this issue, Crafts explores how the enrapturing act of making can boost your wellbeing and examines how craftspeople are using their work to delve inside our inner worlds. We meet makers who are shifting perceptions about our so-called imperfections and how our bodies change over time, including Hanne Friis, the artist whose visceral textiles grace our cover.
We put Jacob van der Beugel’s cellular sculptures under the microscope and look at hair as a high art form, in the hands of Sonya Clark and other international makers. We also explore the therapeutic value of creativity, and how making can be an act of care.
The issue also includes a special Careers in Craft guide with advice on finding the right path for you and creating a brand that stands out.
