I’m an 18-year-old student at Ron Dearing College. I’ve been working with ceramics for around 2 years and recently completed A Levels in Fine Art, 3D Design, and Graphics.
Working mainly on the pottery wheel, I create both uniform vessels and more sculptural forms. Each piece is made individual through its glazing, which captures rhythm and spontaneity. I embrace the unpredictability of the kiln, balancing control with chance to give every work its own character. I have a particular interest in brokenness and capturing moments of fragility.
Focus:
I am inspired by the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, where flaws become a form of beauty. I explore brokenness, individuality, and imperfection, aiming to capture movement in glazing.
I aim to minimize waste when working with ceramics by recycling all scrap clay and try using glazes that are as least harmful as possible and dispose of everything appropriately
