My name is Kerry Samantha Boyes and I lead The Fake Food Workshop. I create sculptural food displays for museums, exhibitions, and collectors, using resin, clay, and Jesmonite. Each piece is researched through historical cookbooks and archives, and brought to life using traditional and contemporary craft techniques. My work celebrates the visual and cultural legacy of food.
Focus:
Recreating historical and heritage-inspired food using casting, modelling, and fabrication techniques. My practice spans medieval pottage to gastro desserts, produced for exhibitions, museums, and pub
My pieces are made to last—designed as sustainable alternatives to real food in exhibitions and displays. I use eco-conscious materials such as Jesmonite and low-VOC resins to prioritise safety, longevity, and reduced waste. Moulds are reused, offcuts repurposed, and each process is carefully considered. With sustainability at the core and craftsmanship in every detail, these works aim to elevate projects and inspire wonder.
