It was during my degree that I started to combine knitting with glass in different ways. I was really taken by combining knitted metals with blown glass and have been refining the technique ever since.
I love to knit. It's a skill that has been passed down through my family for generations. The concentration needed and the repetitive hand movements make knitting and crochet really therapeutic.

I'm very aware as a glassblower that my craft uses a lot of resources. There are a lot of more sustainable equipment available now that use electricity to melt and work the glass. The studio that I hire uses electric furnaces and I will definitely be considering this equipment in my future practice. I do a lot of cutting and polishing in my work so I have a large stock of waste cut offs and I'm working on designs for using my waste glass.
